Paul said it best, “Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.” It is not enough to teach the truth of Jesus if you are perverting the rest of Gods message.
Damon Thompson calls himself a Prophet of God. According to scripture a prophet must be 100% accurate. Deuteronomy 18:20 “But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in My name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other Gods, that prophet shall die.” Damon Thompson has “prophesied” many times things which have not come to pass. Be careful defending any man while standing before God. Jesus is the only “man of God”. All others are either men who know the Father and will be with Him in Heaven, or men who serve Satan.

I “attend” Celebration Church but attend is not the right word. I experience God in that place. I see the loveof Jesus in the eyes of “attendees”. I see a love for Jesus. We will see Fresno saved. Please come and experience this place before you listen to ReadJames. We are not blind followers. You really must come to fully understand. We are a place full of people who love Jesus Christ. The services continue some times till 12:00 because when you experience God you are not always so willing to leave.

I recently have been listening to Damon Thompsons preaching on youtube. though I still don’t know much about him so far I am very enthusiatic. I am 50+ and long to hear men preach with power. Even reading the BIBLE and speaking it forth should rattle and challenge us all. I’m tired of the marshmellow Jesus I have seen portrayed in the churches whose goal is not to offend anyone so that the tithes and offering will keep pouring in and attendance will grow. The scriptures have been so watered down I am pleased that anyone would try to wake up the youth to the magnificence of Jesus and the commitment He requires. If we would get it we would see that same POWER once displayed by the early Christians. Damon Thompson? I don’t know. But I do know that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow and He calls us to leave it all behind and follow him and in doing so men will hate us and speak evil against us.

If you read through the Bible, Old Testament and New Testament alike, there are hundreds of accounts where mighty men of God and prophets were used by God to do and say things that we in the American church today would deem outrageous and “unloving”.

In the old testament, the people who were actually devoted and faithful to the Lord said things that were hard for hearers to swallow. They were killed and slain for speaking what the LORD told them to say. It’s the same thing in the new testament (Jesus ofcourse, Stephen, etc).

Also, in both testaments, men of God were used to do things like… cause fire to come down on false prophets (Elijah), bears mauling people who mocked the man of God (Elisha), even angels slayed the enemies of Israel (2Kings-after Hezekiah prayed), and in the book of Acts, Herod was smitten down by God and a sinful man was caused to be blind.

The same God that heals, kills. But we don’t preach that today int he church do we?

That’s why there is alack of fear of God.
That’s why there are many passive Christians out there who do not know the Word
and have never been used by The Lord to do a miracle.
That’s why there are many who are afraid to preach the Bible.

Why was this article written?… tarring apart another man’s integrity and his ministry. remember Corinthians says “Actually, then, it is already a defeat for you, that you have lawsuits with one another. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be defrauded?”….. your dividing the church, splitting it and slandering the body. The bible says to judge a prophet by his fruit, you could say that his fruit would be fulfilled prophesy’s, or you could say it is the fruit of the spirit. Damon’s ministry feed the homeless in the store house in Hamilton, O yeah and before you criticize his ministry remember that tornado that ran through Oklahoma recently yeah His church along with Himself were digging through rubble for hours calling out people names, there used to be people in his community who criticized him and persecuted him and called his fallowing a cult and called him a false prophet, but every day more and more of his community comes to honor and respect Damon because he exhibits true fruit. Those people now defend Damon and his church. It reminds me of that story of John the baptist where Jesus’s Disciples began to baptise as well and John’s Disciples got all bent out of shape, do you remember John’s response?

Bro im fine with you criticizing the message those are your theological rights, but the fact of the matter is you Cant tell Jesus I love you But I Hate your wife. We are here to honor the body of Christ to build it up not to point out its errors and faults. We need to come the the fullness of the Knowledge and the Faith of Christ in unity as Eph 4 says.

The culture that we live in encourages us to criticize to speculate and to examine the faults of others. But the Body of Christ is not of this world, please help us to unify the body not to tare it apart.

the bible also talks about false teachers and it says they will come proclaiming the gospel that is different than that of Jesus Christ…pretty sure Damon talks about Jesus, and that Jesus is THE way, THE truth, and THE life, and NOONE can come to the Father except by Jesus….so maybe YOU need to read James?

and you bashing Damon Thompson makes you any better? he preaches about the church because SO many churches now days are DEAD and he wants them to be awakened! you are probably offended cuz your probably caught up in the tradition you have always been taught…he offends people because he isnt afraid to preach parts of the Bible that many people take offense to, such as drunkedness, sexual immorality, and homosexuality. things people dont wanna hear cuz they are too afraid of offending someone rather than preaching stuff from the Bible that is fiery and that many of todays preachers overlook because they are to concerned with their social status as a preacher

Be very careful. I wouldn’t say anything about Damon before you take all of your concerns before the Lord and let him show you what the truth is not based around your emotions or feeling but strictly based around the voice of God. Personally I had several things about Damon I didn’t agree with and to be honest didn’t like but the Lord told me to pray for his voice to go through damons words, and God clearly shown the reason the CHURCH doesn’t like people like damon is because they/we like comfort which is actually complacency and it is a spiritual death that will kill and damon is radical he operates in what the Lord has called the church to operate in and before we jump to judging his words lets see if its more radical then the words of jesus. You think damons touchy what about this,”If you want to follow after me you must drink my blood and eat my flesh” that sounds crazy like the things damon says but so did jesus by saying this because when you refuse anything but absolute truth when you go to the world you will be rejected the way Jesus was rejected and I beg you my friend in Christ don’t be one to stand against a voice the lord is using! I love you!

Is an attempt at humor so easily mistaken by others looking for a chance to spite a man who relies solely upon the Lord instead of articles defacing other people to sound spiritual? Yes, im sure he has many people around him who have come from prison. we are called to preach to the poor and hurting. who lies in prison but those type of people. Judge your motives on this article if not the content of it.

For about the last 6 months I attended Celebration Church in Clovis, Ca. I listened to Randy and Cherie Hand’s “buffet” style of teaching. They seem to pick and choose those scriptures from the Bible that suits the point they are trying to get across, without the complete context of the meaning of the chapter or verse. False teachings?
Damon Thompson is usually the speaker on ‘God encounter weekend’ and it is my impression that they use him as reinforcement to “fleece” the congregation. He is a bold speaker making prophesy that has not come to pass. He is a false prophet and also preaches the “buffet” style. It saddened me to see how many blind followers this church has and they are not far from those that followed Jim Jones to Jonestown.
I had to chuckle at their slogan. “It’s not a religion, it’s a relationship.” Even Judas Iscariot had a relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ, walking and talking with the Lord, even kissing the Lord. But Judas went to hell. Religion is a belief in a deity and to have the fire of the Holy Spirit we must be “religious”.
The New Testament devotes a lot of time emphasizing that there will be many false prophets and teachers and they are to be exposed in all areas.
